Dave Tee

Lead Associate Wales

With 24 years of experience as a coach, David is a qualified practitioner and a registered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). He is the lead associate for Growth Coaching International in Wales.

At the heart of his practice, David sees coaching as “A Socratic-based future-focused dialogue between a facilitator (coach) and a participant (client) where the facilitator uses communication techniques aimed at stimulating the self-awareness and personal responsibility of the participant” (Passmore & Fillery-Travis, 2011).

David flexibly draws upon a wide repertoire of coaching tools and techniques to ensure the time clients invest in each coaching session is of maximum value for them. David takes the quality of his coaching practice seriously: he is bound by the BPS’s ‘Code of Ethical Conduct’, carries indemnity insurance and also works with his coaching supervisor to ensure the quality of his work is maintained.

David is a CIPD-qualified learning and development professional and chartered psychologist with over twenty years of experience in education, coaching and coaching research. Alongside his coaching work, David has trained educators as coaches at secondary and tertiary level, ranging from Heads to NQTs, published research on coaching in education and organised specialist educational coaching conference streams.

David is a chartered psychologist, Level A/Intermediate B psychometric test administrator and Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 7 qualified executive coach and coaching supervisor. He is the editor of British Psychological Society publication ‘The Coaching Psychologist’, chair or co-chair of numerous national and international coaching conferences and has an interest in how ‘positive psychology’ interventions and techniques can help staff, leaders and organisations achieve their goals.
